Braided Hair Rosette

My sister Rachel invented this cute hairdo for me to wear to a makeup party we were attending. I got so many compliments on it that I thought I should share her easy directions:
First, part hair to one side. Take a small section from the front of the parted side, and braid all the way down, starting where you want the center of your rosette to be on your head. Coil the braid into a rosette shape, hiding the beginning of the braid, and secure with bobby pins. In addition to looking lovely, this hairdo was great for keeping my hair out of my face for my makeover! The lady who did my eyes tried color-blocking with eye shadows, putting a lighter shade on the inside and a darker one on the outer part of the lids. It was a really fun technique, and i'll be using it again.

State Fair Results :)

I am happy to announce I won 2nd place for my dress and 4th place for my bird wall hanging! This was my first year to enter as a professional (since I started my business!), so I am especially pleased by how well I did. I am about to start featuring wall hangings, including this one, in my shop, so keep checking there if you want to buy one!

Cute new Onesies

I made a couple of fun onesies for a friend, and think they turned out too cute not to share! There's an adorable tuxedo onesie for dressy occasions and a playful onesie for that football-player-in-the-making. On the cherry onesie, I love how the bright colors coordinate with the cute flowers on the pacifier strap.  :)

(You can custom order any of these items in my shop.)

State Fair Entries

Sometimes I think there is only enough time in my day to make a craft or blog about it:), so recently I have been busy making all kinds of crafts!
I just finished my three projects for the NC state fair.
I love entering projects in the state fair and have entered projects/crafts since 1998!
I really enjoyed making this fun bird wall hanging! Since framing in embroidery hoops is popular right now, it was fun to work with that in mind and create this project

This is the dress and matching purse I made for the state fair. For this dress I had so much fun designing the modern look I wanted with pink and orange and I even put a black fashion zipper in the back for extra flair.

Fun gold sparkly shoes!

See fashion zipper pictured below!

Cute matching purse and striking rosette detail.

Zebra nail art

My sister Rachel and I saw this girl on a commercial that had super cute nails with zebra
nail art on them.
Then Rachel had the great idea to use Sharpie to do the lines, so we had to try it!
All you do is pant your nails light green let them dry then draw squiggly lines on with a Sharpie!
And enjoy the cuteness!
I love how mine turned out!
